Five To Depart Academy

RANGERS Academy can confirm John Balde, Kieran McKechnie, Aiden McAdams and Aidan Wilson will move on from the Development Squad following the closure of 2020/21 season, while Julian Anderson will move on from the U18 team.

Best known to supporters will be Aidan Wilson who made his first-team debut in 2017. Head of Senior Academy, David McCallum, along with other Rangers Academy Staff will work closely with each player, providing ongoing support and assistance to help the players take the next step in their professional development.

Head of Academy, Craig Mulholland said “This is a difficult time of year for staff and players when key decisions are made on where these young men will continue their football journeys.  The likes of Aidan Wilson and Kieran McKechnie have been with us from a very young age, growing from boys into men, and bonds are created not only with them but also their parents.

“Our role now, in keeping with Rangers’ values and standards, is to ensure that the lads feel supported with input from many different staff, receive a detailed presentation containing video, sports science data, character references, etc. and assistance in reaching a positive destination to continue their careers. We will always be here to support the lads and assist them in any way we can.

“They leave well-rounded and educated young men and we wish them well as they enter their next chapter.”

John, Kieran, Aidan, Aidan and Julian have represented the club to the highest standard, everyone at Rangers wishes them the very best.  All of the lads will always be welcome back to The Rangers Training Centre and Ibrox.
