Dave King is a Scottish-born businessman who has lived in South Africa since emigrating in 1976 and invested £20million into Rangers in March 2000.

A lifelong supporter who was reared on the great Rangers team of the 1960s, he used to walk to matches from his home in Castlemilk.

He is an entrepreneur with interests in a number of businesses in the South African financial services sector having beomce hugely successful in that country.

He was given the opportunity to invest in the club in 2000 and he was delighted to do so, even if his visits to Ibrox are infrequent.

King sponsors the local TV channel in Johannesburg to screen Old Firm matches and he hosted the Rangers squad at his luxury home during the pre-season tour of 2006.
