A Long Way To Go

Steven Davis scores his side's opening goal against St. Mirren

STEVEN DAVIS is delighted that Rangers currently have a ten point cushion at the top of the SPL but he insists this season's title race is far from over.

This week the Light Blues have two tricky tests to overcome against in-form Motherwell at Fir Park tomorrow night and high flying Hibs at Ibrox on Sunday.

Steven DavisThe Steelmen have taken 13 points from their last five SPL fixtures under Craig Brown while John Hughes' Hibees are fighting for second place in the league with Celtic.

Davis is fully aware how tough both games will be but hopes his team's fighting spirit can help secure six vital points in the next five days.

He said: "I think we are in a great position being ten points ahead and of course we want to keep that.

"But we have a lot of important games coming and it's vital we just try to keep winning.

"Next up is Motherwell and we know they are playing very well and getting good results under their new manager.

"The pitch might also make the game a bit more difficult so we will need to be at our best if we are to get three points.

"But we have a really good team spirit right now and what we have achieved so far has been down to hard work.

"Everybody gets on really well which helps.
