Mon 22 Feb 2010 Boyd Back For Scots
KRIS BOYD and Lee McCulloch have returned to the Scotland set up as two of six Gers players called up by new coach Craig Levein.
He said: "I got a phonecall from Walter explaining what happened and that he was a doubt for the game next weekend. "I'm looking for certainty. It doesn't look like he's going to be fit, so it's nice and simple. Once this game is out the way, he will be considered for the next match." Steven Whittaker, Kevin Thomson and Kenny Miller also make Levein's first squad and Andy Webster, currently on loan at Dundee Utd, is also recalled to the international set up, while former Gers Charlie Adam and Alan Hutton are also in the group. Were McCulloch to play, it would be his first appearance for Scotland since the final match of the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign which saw the Scots defeated by Italy. Neil Alexander will battle with first choice goalkeeper Craig Gordon as he looks to add to his three international caps while Thomson and Whittaker will also hope to add to their tallies of one and four caps respectively.
