Singing The Birthday Blues

Written by

RANGERS fans in Lewis and Harris recently came together to celebrate the 54-times Scottish champions’ 140th birthday.

They were joined in Stornoway by five former players, with Davie Wilson, Colin Jackson, Willie Henderson, Bobby Russell and John McDonald travelling north for the event.

A full house was treated to an extensive question and answer session with Alasdair Morrison compering.

Henderson – a former Lewis resident - then took to the stage after a short break and gave a talk about his time with the Light Blues.

Fans and the special guests alike enjoyed a buffet with many of those in attendance queuing to have their photos taken with the ex-Gers stars.

A raffle was also held and that gave supporters a chance to get their hands on some wonderful Ibrox memorabilia.
