Loan Move For McAusland

Written by

YOUNG Rangers defender Kyle McAusland has joined Ayr United on a three month loan deal.

The 19-year-old was a regular in Billy Kirkwood’s under-19 side last season, making 18 appearances and scoring twice.

He has featured as both a central defender and a right back in the youth set up for the Light Blues.

A hip injury collected in the second week of pre-season had kept him out of action until early this month when he appeared in a 3-1 victory in a closed door game against Falkirk at Ibrox.

McAusland replaced the injury Anestis Argyriou at right back in that match and set up the opening goal for Francesco Stella before conceding the penalty from which the Bairns equalised.

He also featured on Tuesday night for Tommy Wilson’s reserve side against Annan, completing the full 90 minutes against Annan Athletic.

Now McAusland will have the opportunity to gain valuable first team experience with the Second Division outfit.
