Well over 100 fans have already signed up and we want to make sure that as many supporters as possible have the opportunity to take part in the event, which should be a tremendous show of support for the Foundation’s partnership with ABF The Soldiers' Charity, and a terrific day out at Ibrox.
McCoist commented: "I am really looking forward to taking part in this 10km walk around the pitch with what I am sure will be a fantastic turn out from fans, soldiers and veterans alike. Along with the Rangers Charity Foundation I am proud to be helping The Soldiers' Charity and all they do to assist some of life's greatest heroes".
Hegarty added, “I for one am proud to be taking part in the walk. My brother serves in the army and I know that the troops really appreciate the support they receive. The Soldiers’ Charity does brilliant work and I hope loads of fans make it along to the walk – it should be a great day out!”
In addition to the 25 lap 10km challenge there will also be the chance to take on an inflatable assault course and climbing wall courtesy of the Army Cadet Force, as well as try their hand at the drills serving personnel use in their training schedules.
Our charity walks in the past at Ibrox have been very popular and renowned for their great atmosphere, and Walk With Heroes should be no exception, with additional activities provided by our friends in the armed forces to make the day extra special.
Sergeant Andy Geelan, who helped to promote the event along with Private Jamie Quinn and Lee McCulloch commented, “The Walk With Heroes is a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause. There will be lots of army-related activities on the day and I’m really looking forward to the event. We have quite a few soldiers from 6 Scots and local regiments coming along and we want to make sure everyone has a great day supporting a great charity”.
Thanks for your support!
