The Light Blues put in an impressive display on Saturday as they romped to a 5-1 victory over East Stirlingshire and Little grabbed the headlines with his first ever treble for the club, albeit he thought he should have scored more!
The result will no doubt have boosted confidence at this early stage of the campaign but Little believes the Bairns will provide a very tough challenge with last season’s 3-2 League Cup defeat to Steven Pressley’s men still fresh in the memory.
He said: “I think we want to prove a point in the cup competitions and we want to try and win them, that is the target for us.
“Tuesday night is a good chance for us to show that we can beat arguably the best team in the First Division.
“There’s absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t do that as long as we apply ourselves correctly and play as we can.
“But I didn’t actually see the Falkirk game that we lost last season, I was on loan at Port Vale at the time and I listened to it on the radio going down to Stoke actually.
“From what I heard it was a very, very tough game.
“They are a good footballing team and although they've lost a few of their better players.
“But they also have a lot of good players coming through so we probably have the toughest tie of the round.
“I know a couple of their players as well, Michael McGovern the goalkeeper and Johnny Flynn the centre half are Northern Irish.
“So there will be a couple of familiar faces there and I’m sure it will be a tough task.”
