Goian Gone, Edu Going

Written by

DORIN GOIAN has joined Serie B outfit Spezia Calcio on a one-year loan deal.

The Romanian defender has left Auchenhowie just a year after moving to Glasgow from Palermo and will now move back to Italy after Spezia won promotion from the third tier at the end of last term.

Maurice Edu is also looking to move on and it's believed Premiership side Stoke City are now interested in the American midfielder.

Edu has not featured for Rangers this season despite allowing his contract to transfer over from the club’s old company to the new one.

With potential World Cup appearances to make for the USA in Brazil less than two years from now, the 26-year-old has made no secret of his desire to move on.

He departs after a total of 125 appearances and 12 goals for the club, his most notable being his last-minute derby winner against Celtic in February 2010.
