Boca Berwick Doubt

Written by

ALLY McCOIST may be without American international and captain Carlos Bocanegra for the weekend trip to face Berwick Rangers.

Bocanegra is struggling with a hamstring problem however McCoist is hopeful he will shrug it off in time to play on Sunday and that he will remain with the club for the foreseeable future.

The manager said: “Carlos is struggling a wee bit with a hamstring injury but he’s hopeful he can play on Sunday and that’s where we’re at just now.

“We speak at great length with him being the captain and he is where he is, we are where we are, and we’re delighted to have him.”

McCoist has already added to his defensive options with French youth international Sebastien Faure added to the ranks earlier this week.

And the Rangers boss is hoping for good things from his new addition.

He added: “He’s certainly a good age with hopefully the best years of his football career ahead of him. We hope that can be here.

“He’s an aggressive centre back and can play in midfield as well because he’s a good user of the ball.

“So he’s one that we’re delighted to get in and hopefully we can get him involved, if not at the weekend, then on Thursday.”
