McCulloch was on top form as he scored with a terrific header and found an excellent finish after a Falkirk mix-up either side of Andy Little’s eighth goal of the season.
However, the 34-year-old star was itching for a hat-trick and is now rueing the fact he is stuck in 99 strikes.
He said: “I think that’s me on 99 goals so I would love to get another one before my career ends!
“I was chasing the hat-trick tonight so I gave a few of the lads some stick for not setting me up but they are used to my moaning.
“It was a good performance. We had to get back to winning ways after last Sunday.
“There was a bit of pressure on us tonight and Falkirk are a good side so it was good to get some a convincing win and performance.
“We created a lot of chances which was a great sign. I managed to score a couple and I hit the post and the ball came back and hit me on the nose!
“Falkirk had just hit the post when we got the first goal. It was a good ball in from Ian Black and I got good contact on the ball which went into the bottom corner.
“I was delighted to get my second goal. It was a bit of a mix-up from their point of view but I wasn’t caring.”
Little made it eight goals in seven matches and McCulloch was also impressed with the Ibrox debut of Anestis Argyriou.
He added: “It was another good finish from Andy Little and he’s doing really well at the moment.
“I though the new lads did well, Argyriou looks as if he will be a top player for us at right back.
“I just hope we can get a good draw in the last 16 and we can progress further.”
The draw will take place at Hamilton on Monday at 2pm.
