The Spanish striker has started just three games since his move to Ibrox on August 7 and admits he was rusty having not had a proper pre-season.
A recent hamstring strain has not helped but this injury is now behind him and he is working hard with the physios at Murray Park to regain his match sharpness.
The Gers first-team players not on international duty have had a few days off but Sandaza will be at the training ground this weekend so that he can rejoin the squad next week in the build-up to the match against the Galabankies.
Fran said: “To be honest I could have played on Sunday but I spoke with the gaffer and we decided the best option for me is to work hard to get to the same level as the rest.
“I haven’t done any pre-season so this week has been very, very hard for me.
“I have done a double session every day and I’m not going to take any days off.
“The rest of the boys are taking four days off, they deserve it but I don’t.
“So I stay here to work hard and hopefully next week I will train with the rest on Monday to be able to play on Saturday.
“I can’t wait to be honest.
“For me I was very disappointed with my last two games, I wasn’t happy with my performance.
“But I honestly couldn’t do anything else because my fitness was not right.
“So it’s been a bit tough but hopefully I am going to get up to the pace as soon as possible because the best thing I can do is score goals.
“I know I will but I wish for the fans to be a bit patient with me because they will see me at my best for sure.”
