It’s the first time since the opening day of the Third Division campaign he has gone with the same starting XI for two consecutive matches.
But unlike the game with Peterhead then and the League Cup opener against East Fife before it, he has also kept the same five players on the bench too.
That means captain Lee McCulloch, who signed a two-year contract extension earlier today, will lead the line with Andy Little and Dean Shiels either side of him.
There will be a three-man midfield comprised of Ian Black, Kyle Hutton and Lewis Macleod once again.
And Chris Hegarty keeps his spot at right-back with Emilson Cribari, Ross Perry and Lee Wallace completing the defence.
Neil Alexander is in goals with replacement keeper Scott Gallacher, Kevin Kyle, Fraser Aird, Barrie McKay and Anestis Argyriou all amongst the substitutes.
Rangers are bidding to become the very first Third Division team to reach the last four of this competition, an event they have won 27 times in all.
As things stand, they are one of three teams from the fourth tier to make it as far as the quarters along with Stirling Albion (1997/98) and Ross County (1998/99).
Gers have won their last four meetings with Caley Jags and this is the first time the clubs have come together in the League Cup following 21 SPL fixtures and a Scottish Cup tie.
Both are in good scoring form, with the Highlanders netting in each of their 13 games so far in 2012/13 and the Light Blues scoring in all bar two of their 16 outings.
McCulloch, Rangers’ leading scorer this season with 14 goals, is bidding to score in his ninth successive Ibrox match after net in every fixture at the stadium so far this term.
