ALLY McCOIST and the first team squad reported back to Murray Park today for the opening day of pre-season training and the staff wore the new PUMA training kit sponsored by Blackthorn for the first time.

New signings Cammy Bell, Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, Steven Smith and Jon Daly joined the players at the training ground this morning for a series of fitness tests before the hard work on the pitch started around 2pm.

The new training kit is available to buy from Thursday 11 July in the Rangers Megastore at Ibrox Stadium, the Glasgow Airport and Belfast shops, PUMA outlets, Sports Direct stores throughout the UK, and online at www.rangersmegastore.com, www.puma.com and www.sportsdirect.com.

Rangers Interim Chief Executive Craig Mather commented: “PUMA are one of the world’s iconic lifestyle brands and we were delighted to showcase the new training kit – sponsored by Blackthorn Cider - at the training ground today. I am sure supporters will appreciate the quality and design of the new kit.”

Ruth How, Head of Sports Marketing, PUMA UK added: "At PUMA we recognise that great performance on the pitch only comes from thorough preparation in training, and that the slightest margin of difference there can make a real impact on the pitch.

"That's why we're delighted to have developed a technically excellent training kit for Rangers Football Club so that the squad can look and feel at the top of their game in training, as well as on match day."

Paolo Mortarotti, Managing Director of The Shepton Mallet Cider Company, owners of Blackthorn Cider, said: “Blackthorn are delighted to be adorning the iconic Rangers shirts for the start of next season as main club sponsor and are very much looking forward to working with the club in what we believe will be a great season for both parties.”
