The Light Blues were worthy winners once again last night as they recorded a 3-0 victory against Queen of the South in the last eight of the Ramsdens Cup.
That followed a handsome 5-1 success against Arbroath at the weekend in their League One meeting at Ibrox.
Those two results were achieved with a number of the club’s new signings in the side following their registration after the conclusion of Gers’ transfer embargo.
The likes of Bilel Mohsni, Stevie Smith, Richard Foster and Arnold Peralta had had very little action in the month leading up to Saturday.
The same applied to Cammy Bell, Steve Simonsen and Nicky Clark, with only Daly and Nicky Law featuring semi-regularly.
Having two games in a short space of time will have been beneficial for the recent additions and they’ve another to look forward to on Sunday at Forfar.
Gers are currently on a seven-match winning streak in both the Ramsdens competition and the title race, having scored 28 goals in that sequence and conceded just two.
But it’s ominous in a sense for their opponents that Daly is hopeful they can turn up the heat on their rivals even further once everyone hits their peak.
The striker, a scorer yesterday at Palmerston Park, told RangersTV: “All the lads did pre-season and then quite a few of them had to sit things out for a month or so just there.
“It has been tough and now we’re at the point where everyone is trying to get their match fitness back up again.
“The only way to get that is through playing games. We’ve probably looked sloppy at times but that’s down to match fitness.
“Once that is all ironed out and we’ve got ourselves up to speed we can hopefully kick on again.
“We want to keep winning games and scoring goals. It’s great we’re getting them at the moment from all areas of the park.
“We’re not relying on one or two people and hopefully we can carry things on into the weekend against Forfar now.”
Elsewhere at the club, Greek defender Anestis Argyriou has left Gers after it was mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
The full-back played 27 times in total for the Light Blues last season after coming in from AEK Athens but he hasn't featured this term.
Youngster Stuart Urquhart - who rejected a new deal at Ibrox last season - has also signed for Coventry after a compensation package was agreed.
