Great Run For Ladies And Girls

Written by

LAST week over 65 players, staff and parents, from across the women and girls’ programme at Rangers, joined together to complete a 5k sponsored run.

The event was organised by the Giffnock North Running club and was held at Rouken Glen Park. The youngest runner on the day from the Gers group was only 12 years old and the most mature 63, whilst several of the players got into the spirit of the day and ran in fancy dress.

Under-15 Coach Keiran Reilly finished in the fastest time, completing the race in just over 19 minutes and picking up 4th place overall - beaten only by a few club runners.

With lots of parents also turning up to support there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout and huge cheers as everyone came over the finish line.

The women and girls’ programme would like to thank everyone who participated and sponsored the runners for this and made it such a successful club event.
