WE look at some of the memorable moments that have happened on this day in the remarkable 140 year history of Rangers.

Today we remember goals from cult heroes Rino Gattuso and Filip Sebo, a home debut for Sasa Papac and a 5:1 hammering of Dunfermline at Ibrox.

Rangers got their title ambitions back on track by hammering Dunfermline 5-1 at Ibrox in 2005 after a disappointing start to the season and days after a 1:0 loss to Inter Milan.

Goals from Thomas Buffel, Dado Prso, Federico Nieto, Peter Lovenkrands and Ross McCormack gave Alex McLeish's side a much-needed league win although an early second-half strike from Noel Hunt gave the manager an unnecessary fright.

A sensational 88th minute strike from Filip Sebo earned Rangers a precious league win at Ibrox in 2006 against Aberdeen.

The match had looked to be finishing goalless but the Slovakian hitman stunned the Aberdeen faithful with his first Ibrox goal to send the home support into ecstasy. The match was also the first time that fan-favourite Sasa Papac played in front of the Rangers family at Ibrox.

In 1998, Rangers were on European duty at Ibrox, beating Beitar Jerusalem 4:2 thanks to goals from Jonatan Johansson, Rod Wallace, Sergio Porrini and a first minute goal from Rino Gattuso. Check out some pictures from the match in our gallery below:
