WE look at some of the memorable moments that have happened on this day in the remarkable 140 year history of Rangers.

On this day in 2006, Rangers began a pilot smart card scheme for frequent match ticket purchasers.

Cards were given to 3000 regular purchasers, from the club's database, who were the first non-season ticket holders to hold smart cards for stadium entry.

In 2008, the Rangers website was reporting on the success of the first ever Kids AGM at Ibrox with more than 2,000 young season ticket holders.

Several children got to put their questions to Walter Smith, Kenny McDowall, Jim Sinclair, Chris Burke, Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker and Jordan McMillan.

There was also entertainment from keepy-up expert Graeme Lightbody and the Rangers Girls Get Active dancers at the hour-long event, hosted by George Bowie.

At the end of the Q&A session, 30 kids were lucky enough to get asked to an exclusive signing session and goody bags and autograph sheets were given away in concourses.

In 1973, Rangers were on League Cup duty away to Dumbarton and Jock Wallace’s side ran out 2:1 winners thanks to goals from Alistair Scott and Graham Fyfe.
