Today we remember a Halloween Quarter Final against Motherwell from five years ago, a Scottish record transfer fee paid in 1968 and an exhibition match against the All Blacks in 1984.
The last time that Rangers played on Halloween was on this day in 2007 against Motherwell in the Quarter Final of the League Cup - ironically the team we beat to reach the last eight of the competition this season.
Goals from a resurgent Nacho Novo and Kris Boyd proved to be the difference between the two teams although both sides created numerous other chances in an entertaining game let down only by some poor officiating.
Paul Quinn's late, late goal gave Motherwell hope and added some unneeded extra anxiety to those on the Rangers bench but it was too little too late for Mark McGhee's side who had contributed greatly to a gripping cup tie. You can read a match report here and watch the game on RangersTV here.
In 1968, Rangers signed Ibrox legend Colin Stein from Hibernian for a Scottish record transfer fee of £100,000 - the first six-figure transfer between Scottish clubs.
Stein started his Rangers career in starting style, netting eight goals in his first three games and went on to become one of the most popular strikers to play for the club.
Twenty eight years ago today, in 1984, Ally McCoist was on the scoresheet as Rangers took on New Zealand in an exhibition match that was part of their world tour and a testimonial for Billy Mackay who had to retire from the game due to injury.
Rangers were 5:0 winners in the game, thanks to a brace from Robert Fleck and goals from Ally McCoist, Robert Prytz and one for Australian David Mitchell.
Afterwards, an emotional Mackay said: "I'm grateful to everyone who turned up to help me. People have been marvellous since I had to give the game up and I can only say a big 'thank you' to all concerned".
