Sebastien Faure

SEBASTIEN FAURE was Rangers sixth signing of summer of 2012 when the French defender joined the club on a three-year deal.

The former Lyon centre half arrived at Ibrox with an impressive pedigree having come through Lyon’s youth academy and progressing into their senior squad.

He played for them in the French League Cup, but left the Stade de Gerland without making any appearances for them in Ligue 1.

He has a strong international pedigree and was in the France squad for the Under-20 World Cup last year in Colombia as Les Blues’ finished fourth.

Faure struggled with injuries in his final season in France as a broken toe hindered him at Lyon then caused problems in the second half of the campaign in a loan at Nantes after it seemed it had healed.

He made his Rangers debut at right-back in the club’s 3-0 League Cup victory over Falkirk in August 2012.
