IANIS HAGI says Rangers are determined to end the year on a high when they visit Fir Park to face Motherwell tomorrow afternoon.
The Light Blues are keen to return to winning ways after a frustrating defeat in Paisley on Boxing Day.
And the 26-year-old believes he and his teammates have learned their lesson from the disappointment of three days ago and they are eager to sign off for 2024 on a high note.
Speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Lanarkshire, the Romanian midfielder said: “It’s just one game at a time.
“We understand the position that we are in the league and the difference of points.
“There is still plenty of football to be played and hopefully games like [Thursday] will make us understand what it takes to win games at this time of the year.
“We play for the fans and the history of this club. We’re not happy with how we played on Thursday and hopefully we get back on track on Sunday.
“This is the time of the year where you need to play the full 90 minutes at your best.
“There was two different halves [against St. Mirren] and we need to learn and move on from that.
“How has 2024 been for myself? It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. That’s the best sentence for it.
“But at the moment I’m really enjoying my football and I really feel that there’s a lot of exciting things ahead of me.
“Hopefully I can help the team every game and bring my qualities on a daily basis at this football club.”
The Boxing Day loss was the first defeat Rangers have tasted in all competitions since October.
Hagi concedes the side’s first-half display in Paisley fell sharply below their usual levels and says the onus is on the Light Blues to respond with a positive performance against the Steelmen.
He added: “Everyone could see it was two different halves and obviously this time of the year when you play away it’s not enough to play for one half with the standard of Rangers.
“It wasn’t good enough.
“We need to be more dynamic and understand that this time of the year is really important for this football club. Hopefully we get the three points and move on.”
