Jo Potter Signs Contract Extension

RANGERS Football Club are today delighted to announce that Jo Potter has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2026.

The women’s head coach, who joined the Light Blues last June, will extend her stay in Glasgow having made an immediate impact during her tenure in charge so far.

The former Lioness has overseen an unbeaten ScottishPower Women’s Premier League campaign to date, which sees the Gers sit at the top of the table having won 19 matches and drawn three.

She has also led her side to the final of the Sky Sports Cup having tasted an Old Firm victory in the last four.

The Gers are targeting the first silverware of the season when they take on Partick Thistle at Tynecastle Stadium at the end of this month - as they look to retain the trophy they won for the first time in their history last season.

They have also reached the last eight of the Scottish Cup and take on Hibs this weekend as Rangers look to continue competing on three fronts in the final months of the campaign.

The news comes as a welcome boost to the squad ahead of their quarter-final tie in the capital as the two teams prepare to face off once again this Sunday lunchtime.

Speaking after putting pen to paper on a new deal, Potter commented: “I am really happy here. It was kind of a no brainer for me when the club approached me about extending my stay.

“It is the start of something really special and the club has made me feel more than welcome and been really aligned with my views and my way of working. I have really enjoyed this last few months of being here.”

Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies added: “Since I joined the club, I have thoroughly enjoyed my working relationship with Jo. I am pleased that we were able to make swift progress on the contract discussions, which demonstrate how committed to Rangers she is.

“The professionalism, high standards and dedication that Jo and all of the coaching and support staff have given to make this club successful is evident both on and off the pitch.

“We hope that hard work is rewarded with some silverware and we are in a strong position to achieve that goal under Jo.”

Director of Football Operations, Creag Robertson, also said: “All at the football club are delighted we can extend Jo’s contract until 2026.

“Working alongside Donald and the rest of the staff, we believe Jo can continue the positive start to her managerial career, continually raising standards and expectations across the club.

“Jo and the rest of her team are relentless in their desire to bring success to the club and we are delighted that she has signed this new contract.”
