Latest Rangers Loan Review

RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Men's and Academy sides at present, and here’s our review of how each of those in action fared over the weekend.

Ross McCausland – Winger – Aris Limassol

Ross was a second-half substitute for Aris in their 1-1 draw with Pafos last Tuesday evening.

He was then an unused substitute for the Cypriot outfit as they ran out 3-0 winners over Apollon Limassol last time out.

Jose Cifuentes – Midfielder – Toronto FC

Jose started as Toronto FC played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Austin on Saturday evening.

The side’s unbeaten run continued as a result, with the Ecuadorian midfielder having played an instrumental role this season.

Leon King – Defender – Ayr United

Leon played his first 90 minutes in just over a month for Ayr United as he stepped up his return from injury.

The Honest Men tasted defeat at the hands of Ross County in the Highlands in the defender’s 30th appearance this campaign.

Paul Nsio – Midfielder – Raith Rovers

Paul started twice for Raith over the last week in the Scottish Championship.

The Stark’s Park outfit were victorious over Queen’s Park in midweek but suffered defeat at Arbroath at the weekend.

Calum Adamson – Midfielder – Alloa Athletic

Calum returned from suspension for Alloa as they secured their play-off berth with a 2-0 win over East Fife.

It was a welcome return to winning ways for the Wasps, who will hope to build momentum into their play-off exploits.

Callum Burnside – Winger – Alloa Athletic

Callum was also given the nod from the off as he grabbed an assist in the victory.

The Northern Irishman headed down to tee up Calum Waters’ first-half opener as he made it 13 goal contributions for the campaign.

Lewis Stewart – Winger – Alloa Athletic

Lewis started in attack for the League One outfit at home.

Like Calum and Callum, the winger also featured – and scored – for Rangers Under-19s in midweek in their Glasgow Cup semi-final clash against an experienced Clyde outfit.

Josh Gentles – Forward – Alloa Athletic

Josh is currently absent from Alloa after sustaining an injury against Queen of the South in February that will sideline the forward for a period of time.

Zander Hutton – Defender – Hamilton Academical

Zander netted his first professional goal as Hamilton recorded a 2-0 victory away to Montrose.

It was a special moment for the 19-year-old who arrived in space at the far post to power a header into the far corner as Accies boosted their hopes of securing safety.

Jack Wyllie - Defender - Kelty Hearts

Jack was a second-half substitute for Kelty as they tasted defeat to Inverness.

The appearance marked a 20th outing of the campaign for the defender, who has also featured for Rangers Under-19s.

Arran Kerr – Defender – Stirling Albion

Arran, in the meantime, played the full 90 minutes for Stirling Albion in their draw with Elgin City.

The young full-back was also on the scoresheet for Gers Under-19s with an audacious lob against Clyde in midweek.

Connor Campbell - Defender - Stirling Albion

Connor similarly started for the Binos in the draw at Forthbank Stadium.

He played the full 90 minutes for the side that sits eighth in the League Two standings.

Alexander made his eighth appearance for Dumbarton as they suffered defeat against Clyde.

The young midfielder has made a sizeable impact since joining the Sons on loan until the end of the season, having registered four assists.

Alfie Halliwell – Goalkeeper – Albion Rovers

Alfie was among the substitutes as Albion Rovers triumphed over Civil Service Strollers.

The goalkeeper started between the posts for Gers Under-19s against Clyde as he continues to gain vital experience this season.
