JOHN LUNDSTRAM is looking forward to having the opportunity to work with Michael Beale again as the squad returned to training with the new manager this week.
The midfielder, who joined the club while Beale was a coach under Steven Gerrard, says the players are ‘ready to go’ as they begin preparations for the restart of the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, Lundstram said: “The gaffer was a great coach for me when I first came in under Steven so to be working with him again is great. We know how good he is as a coach, he gets his points across and he is so good at communicating.
“I also want to say a massive thanks to Gio and his staff, I had huge respect for him. There were some great memories for everyone associated with the club, so I have massive respect for him and the staff as well.
“When people do leave the building they become friends so it is sad to see people go but at the same time it is football and it happens so we have to get ready to go again.
“It is nice to meet the new coaches and we are looking forward to working with everyone. I have huge respect for what they have done in the past and I'm sure they can bring their qualities and experience along with them.”
With just over two weeks until the next Scottish Premiership fixture against Hibs, Lundstram says it is important the squad can take in the new ideas at training ahead of a busy end to the year.
He continued: “We just need to take on board all the gaffers' new ideas and try to integrate the new style and new ideas.
"It is all geared towards that and obviously getting our legs going again.
“The league is the main focus and we really need to try and close the gap, that is the main aim. We fell behind and we are under no illusions it is going to be tough to get the nine points back but it's football it is not impossible, so let's see what happens.”
