MIA MCAULAY has expressed her delight after putting pen to paper on a new Rangers deal recently.
The youngster agreed a new contract with the club before the Gers’ last outing in their Old Firm victory after only signing her first professional deal back in July with the 17-year-old enjoying an impressive breakthrough in the team so far this campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV exclusively after committing her future to the Light Blues she spoke upon her whirlwind start to the season after featuring heavily for the Gers making 13 appearances so far.
She commented: “I am delighted to have signed a new contract. Obviously I signed professional in the summer, but to have signed a new one so soon I am delighted, to know that Jo and the coaching staff believe in me.
“I am enjoying it a lot. I have come in as a young player not expecting a lot of game time, but through injuries I have got the chance and I have been delighted with how I have been playing so I hope to carry that on.
“This has been a new environment for me, coming in through the academy. I think the older players have really helped me settle in and Jo has just been an extra help as well.”
The winger has experienced playing in front of the Ibrox crowd and winning the club’s official player of the month already this season and says she is constantly learning and wanting to improve to help the team.
She continued: “It was really special, to come on and play in front of a good crowd. Coming and watching the men's team every week and me playing on that pitch is amazing.
“I am really enjoying it. To know that the fans are enjoying watching me play and I am just going to keep carrying that on throughout the rest of the campaign.”
The Gers are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Spartans at Broadwood Stadium in the SWPL and McAulay wants the team to keep building on the position they find themselves in at the top of the table.
She added: “We obviously went into the international break on a high. I think the girls and I we just need to come back into training, get our heads down and keep that going.
“We are in a great position at the top of the table, I think the girls and I just need to keep our heads down and just keep carrying on as we are going.
“We know how Spartans play. We know that they're going to be a tough game, I think the girls and I are just going to analyse them this week and we will be ready for them on Sunday.”
