Rangers Confirm Academy Coaching Changes

RANGERS can today confirm the following Academy coaching changes in the Professional Development Phase.

David McCallum will continue in his role as lead coach of the B Team as they prepare for a hugely exciting Best v Best games programme, where he will now be assisted by former Women’s Head Coach Malky Thomson.

In the meantime, Cameron Campbell, who has led the Under-18s team over the previous two seasons, has been appointed PDP Talent Development Coach, where he will work the highest potential players in the Academy between Under-16s and B Team on an individual level and will help players in their transition to the first-team.

Brian Gilmour will now lead the Under-18s side as they embark on another campaign competing in both the Club Academy Scotland Elite Under-18s Youth League and Scottish Youth Cup, with Steven Smith continuing to assist.

Academy Director, Zeb Jacobs, commented: "Our aim is to create the most exciting learning environment in sports, and our coaches will play a pivotal part in achieving this objective.

“Our new coaching pairs possess a variety of experiences and qualities, forming an ideal groundwork for collaboration. The energy and dynamic among our PDP staff are truly captivating, and these characteristics are reflecting on our players and their development.

“The new role for Cameron Campbell fits exactly in what we want to do; innovate, individualise and creating a bespoke programme for every high potential individual."
