Rangers Sign Kathryn Hill

RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Kathryn Hill from Durham.

The 27-year-old rejoins the club having played in Light Blue for over five seasons before moving to America to continue her career.

A versatile player, Hill can play centrally or at full-back and will add further defensive experience to Malky Thomson’s side.

Following her spell in America with Old Dominion University, Hill moved back to the United Kingdom and signed with Durham in the FA Women’s Championship.

It was a successful spell which saw her make over 100 appearances for the club as they challenged at the top end of the table, while she received recognition by picking up the North East Football Writers’ Women’s Player of the Season in 2020.

Hill has also represented Scotland at international level through the youth age groups.

Speaking on signing for Rangers, she said: “I am obviously really excited. It is a proud day for me and my family and I am just looking forward to getting started.

Head coach Malky Thomson added: “We are delighted to have signed Kathryn and she brings with her a wealth of experience which will be important as we prepare for an exciting 2022/23 season.

“She is a strong defender who has played regularly in Scotland, America and England and that can only help our squad both on and off the pitch.”
