RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that Tessel Middag has signed a one-year contract extension.
The 31-year-old, who joined the side back in 2021, will commit her future into a fourth campaign for the Gers as the squad continues to take shape ahead of Jo Potter’s second season in charge.
Versatile in playing a number of positions, the experienced midfielder was part of the Rangers side that claimed a first ever SWPL title in 2022 before getting her hands on a maiden Sky Sports Cup success later that year.
She was an ever-present in the most recent campaign, making 41 appearances as she helped the team to a cup double having won the Sky Sports Cup in March before rounding off the season with the Scottish Cup for the first time in Rangers’ history.
Speaking after putting pen to paper on a new deal, Middag said: “I’m delighted to stay at Rangers for another year.
“It means it will be my fourth year in a Rangers shirt. I have played a lot of games so far, thanks to the amount of games played in the league in general as well.
“It has been great; I came in the first place because I want to play at the highest level and for trophies.
“We qualified ourselves for Champions League qualification rounds, which is another massive thing to look forward to in the new season.
“I am absolutely delighted to stay; we have a very good set of facilities and I am really looking forward to the new season already.”
Women’s and Girls Managing Director, Donald Gillies, added: “We are delighted that Tess has committed her future to the club for another season.
“She not only brings a vast amount of experience to the squad, but her presence and standards enhances the quality of others around her.
“Tess has been a huge part of our success across recent seasons, and we look forward to her being part of the side for the upcoming campaign once again.”
