Zander and Ben Hutton Sign New Rangers Contracts

RANGERS Academy are today delighted to announce that brothers, Zander and Ben Hutton, have committed their futures to the club.

Zander, 18, has penned a contract extension, while Ben, 15, has signed his first professional contract.

Zander has been part of the Academy since the age of 12, progressing through the ranks and, most recently, featuring for the first-team across pre-season.

The full-back made his first senior start for the Gers in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough at Ibrox.

Ben, meanwhile, joined the club’s Academy as a ten-year-old and featured for the Under-18s side last term despite not turning 16 until next month.

He has been capped by Scotland at youth level and will form part of the Academy’s Under-19s group this upcoming campaign.

Speaking upon signing his contract extension, Zander commented: “I want to continue where I’m at, keep trying to progress and enjoy playing my football.

“I take every day as it comes in and I’ll work as hard as I can.

“We both have supported Rangers all our lives and it was an honour to come to Rangers. The journey has been great."

Speaking after putting pen-to-paper on his first professional contract, Ben said: “I want to work as hard as I possibly can every day when I come in. Hopefully I can play games for the Under-19s and see where it takes me from there.

“It gives me a lot of confidence to see how Zander has progressed in the last few years. I’ve saw how much hard work that he’s put into his journey and he’s now starting to progress into the first-team.

“I’m just looking to follow in his footsteps and see where it takes me.”
