ANDREAS SKOV OLSEN admits he was thrilled to open his Rangers account in the 5-1 win over Kilmarnock.
The Danish international notched his first goal for the Light Blues with a controlled finish to add to James Tavernier’s penalty and Bojan Miovski’s strike.
Further strikers from Oliver Antman and man of the match, Mikey Moore completed the victory over the Ayrshire side.
Skov Olsen hopes it is the first of many, but says it was a special moment as he helped the side to a ninth domestic match unbeaten.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, he said: “To be honest, my emotions went crazy in my celebration, but it was a big relief to get my first goal.
“I was so happy to get it at Ibrox in an important game, so I am so happy.
“The first goal is always special, especially the way it happened here at Ibrox.
“I remember that we broke through on the left, it was cut back, it went to Mikey Moore and he saw me. I put it in the top corner so it was nice.
“Playing at Ibrox, the atmosphere is amazing and when the fans sing, then we feel it on the pitch and it gives us extra energy, it is a nice feeling.”
The winger was also pleased to see former Nordsjaelland team-mate Antman net his first goal for the club.
Skov Olsen is loving life at Ibrox and he believes having competition for places in the squad raises the levels for all of the players.
Now he can’t wait for his first taste of action in the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup against Queen’s Park at Ibrox on Sunday.
He added: “I feel the chemistry is growing and the more we train and play together, automatically we get better connections.
“You start to understand each other more on the pitch. I think today we did well offensively and we could have scored more goals.
“It was nice to get those goals and finish the game well.
“I was pleased for Oliver and he scored a great goal and it meant a lot to him, so I was happy for him.
“The pressure is there but it is nice and to be honest I really like it so far.
“I hope we can continue as a team to perform and go after the next win.
“There is competition for places as we have a great squad. It keeps everyone at 100 per cent, you have to perform or someone is ready to take over.
“That is how it should be as we get the best out of each other.
“We have Queen’s Park on Sunday and I can’t wait. I am looking forward to my first Scottish Cup game.”
