JUST over 24 hours after being announced as a Rangers player, Oliver Antman lined-up for his debut in last night’s UEFA Champions League qualifier against Viktoria Plzen.
It was an instant impact from the winger, who provided an assist for Djeidi Gassama and won a penalty in the impressive 3-0 victory at Ibrox.
Russell Martin’s men will now head to the Czech Republic next week for the second-leg as they bid for a place in the play-off round.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Antman said: “It was very special to play in front of all of these amazing fans, it was a great atmosphere, and it was a Champions League match so it couldn’t be better.
“I have only been in the building for around 24 hours, so I don’t know as much as the other boys when it comes to tactics, but it felt good. When you have good players around you it is easy to play, and it just worked out.”
On the performance as a whole, Antman added: “It was very good, I think we played some very good football, created some good chances, defended well and we were very aggressive. There were not really many bad things, so it was very positive.
“The job is not done yet, 3-0 is good, but it could’ve been better, it could’ve been four or five, so that job is not done but it was a very good result.”
