PHILIPPE CLEMENT says he was most delighted by the 'synergy' that could be felt between the players and supporters in this afternoon's emphatic 4-0 triumph over Hibernian.
The Belgian celebrated an emphatic Ibrox debut as a brace from Abdallah Sima, as well as goals from Nicolas Raskin and Cyriel Dessers, left the visitors wondering what had hit them as they trudged off at full-time.
Speaking to RangersTV after the win, Clement reflected on a positive Ibrox bow: "I'm happy because you want to start with a win.
"We haven't had the team together for a long time, only two days, so it's a really short time to plant the seeds of the story that we want to make together.
"I saw every player doing their maximum to follow the things that we trained, to stay in the structure and follow the things they were shown on video, so I'm happy with that and the four goals.
"They were an important reason for me coming here because I wanted to feel that [support].
"It's a good start and I can promise the fans we're going to work really hard with the players to get everyone to their top level.
"If everyone is working hard then the fans will be behind them and we'll be a difficult team to beat. That's something that we need to build in the next couple months together."
It was a game where Rangers' quality and intensity came to the fore, with Nicolas Raskin's long-range strike on the stroke of interval putting his side in a commanding position heading into the second half.
There was also a fourth goal of the campaign for Cyriel Dessers who was rewarded for his hard work and perseverance as the focal point of Clement's attack.
He continued: "I was delighted [with the quality], but also the other chances where the goalkeeper did a good job.
"It was a game against a team who are unbeaten with their new manager so it's not an easy team to beat. We did a good job not to allow them to play their normal game that they want to play.
"I spoke with Cyriel earlier this week about working ever so hard for the team then the chances will come. It's then about being cool and confident so I'm happy for him that he scored.
"But I'm also happy for the other players; it's not important for me who scores, but rather that we score goals and win games."
