PHILIPPE CLEMENT states full focus is on gaining another three points as Rangers look to deliver a fifth win in a row.
The Light Blues continued their fantastic form of late with a Europa League group stage win over Sparta Prague last night as swift attention now turning to a trip to Livingston as they look to continue their impressive start under their new manager this weekend.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference ahead of his side’s return to Scottish Premiership action, the manager commented: “I don't have a schedule because the schedule in my head is to win every game. It is continuing and being ambitious and really wanting to win every game, it is about that.
“I don't want to think about the international break now, the one thing that is important now is Livingston and taking the three points there.
“It is a difficult place to go, because of the circumstances and the football they play. We need to be top to get these three points and all the focus is on that. All the other things that come afterwards that is still a long way to go.
The Belgian has highlighted the fast development in his squad since taking over and says their concentration has been key in their progression over the past weeks.
He continued: “I wish it was yesterday. It doesn't work that way, we are not working with robots or machines, we are working with people. You don't know what is going to happen, how somebody reacts, what is happening in his private life or in football.
“I have to say this is the fastest way that a team has reacted until now, when I have been working somewhere, because of their concentration. Also because they come from a very low and deep point and they realise that they need this.
“We are still working on that and that is normal, it is three and a half weeks, it is really short. It is important that they start to learn against every formation and what we need to do as a team and they are getting better and better at that. You also see everything become faster and smoother because it becomes more natural.”
Clement also provided a positive update on the fitness of some of his absent players and says he expects to have several back after the upcoming break.
He added: “I think we can get some players back. I hope to get Kemar back after the break, he was on the bench but just for a few minutes and because we lacked players, because of the European list as well. I expect Rabbi Matondo back after the international break as well John Souttar and Nico Raskin.
“There will be a lot of games so I can say to the players and I have told them already. The players who show themselves every day and work hard during a long period they will get chances in games with the programme we have. It is about them showing themselves that they are ready.”
