DANILO has described the ‘incredible feeling’ of getting his first Rangers goal in this afternoon’s 4-0 victory over Livingston at Ibrox.
The Brazilian headed home a Borna Barisic cross in the second-half to double Gers’ advantage in the Scottish Premiership tie as Michael Beale’s men picked up three points in the league.
Speaking after the game to RangersTV, a delighted Danilo said: “It was an incredible feeling, I can't describe how happy I am, it is just amazing to score for this beautiful club.
“Borna delivered a really beautiful cross and I made good movement in the right position at the right time, and I think if you head it down it is always difficult for the keeper.
“It is still early, I still have to improve myself and my game to get even more confidence but of course with the goal it always gives you an even better feeling. I will keep going and keep working really hard and I really want to help the team even more.”
With fellow summer signings Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Kieran Dowell also on the scoresheet this afternoon, Danilo believes the squad can only get stronger moving forward as they continue to build their relationships on the pitch.
“We showed again we are a strong team,” he continued. “I think the lads played well and we showed how good we can be.
“There are still things we can improve on, and the team is totally new, but we will get to know each other more and we will get used to each other. I think we played really well and then the boys that came on had a really good impact.
“It is great to see everybody is in good shape and everybody wants to win and that is really good for us. The game is 90 minutes, that is what the manager says, we are not just eleven and we need everybody, so everybody has to be sharp.”
Reflected on his first few weeks at the club, Danilo says his teammates made him instantly feel at home as well as the supporters as he looked forward to the future in Glasgow.
He continued: “It is just great, I have a really great feeling from the boys, they gave me a really warm welcome and they made me feel really comfortable since day one.
“Since that day I already felt at home and the fans gave me a really warm welcome as well - I want to give everything for the club.”
