David McCallum: We Must Keep Learning From These Challenges

DAVID MCCALLUM praised his team's winning performance last night in their first away fixture of the Lowland League campaign.

Second-half goals from Cole McKinnon and Robbie sealed three points for the young Gers at Ainslie Park.

Speaking to RangersTV after the game McCallum said: “These games have been key for us to work on going forward. It’s important for us that we take advantage of these moments to try and up our end product.

“I thought in the first 20 minutes we got a bit impatient because we never managed to get the goal that our early play maybe deserved but that’s a learning curve for us, we might dominate most of the possession throughout the park but when the goal doesn't come it’s about not changing what we’re doing.”

McCallum believes that patience is key for his squad when playing in the Lowland League fixtures.

He continued: “We need to recognise that it wasn’t going to be easy. That was the message after the game, we have to remain patient but also believe in the quality that we do have.

“For all the possession that we had, we couldn't breakdown what was an experienced backline. It’s about not getting impatient and not changing what we’re doing, we don’t want to rush to escape from pressure we want to try to invite pressure to where we had the ball.
