Davison Delighted To Net Her First Professional Goal

HANNAH DAVISON scored her first ever professional goal as Rangers beat PAOK 4-0 to progress in the UEFA Women’s Champions League this afternoon.

The centre-back was proud of the team as four second-half goals ensured the Light Blues are in the Round Two draw on September 1.

Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “It is about time I got a goal in my career! It was super exciting and the service was perfectly placed and I just had to run in and tap it in with my head.

“It feels really great, I am really proud of how we came out in the second-half and had answers to a lot of the problems we were seeing. It was a huge team win and a great effort from everyone who came into the game - it was great.

“I think the back line and the whole team have a lot of pride in keeping a zero so it is great to see the focus even when you get up a few goals that the priority is still to keep the ball out of our net and we did well to stay organised.”

Davison said confidence is high in the squad as they return to league action on Wednesday against Hearts, with more European football to look forward to next month.

She continued: “I think was really big for the group to get settled into these games and the team itself is very professional and I think we just took it game by game.

“We can now take these two games into the second round and it is going to be big for us, confidence is high and I hope we are going to do well.

“We just need to keep building and taking the momentum with us when we get home and just keep on winning
