EILIDH AUSTIN wants Rangers to carry on their momentum into tomorrow evening’s SWPL clash.
The Light Blues switch focus quickly back to league action as they host Hearts at Broadwood in their second fixture in three days.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the game the defender wants the Gers to build on their positive Scottish Cup display on Sunday afternoon as they target another victory.
She commented: “It would be massive for us; I think we just need to keep the momentum of winning games and gaining points and making sure that we stay at the top just now.
“I think we take confidence from this game and the quick start we had and how well we played from the start and take that into Hearts and hopefully do the same.”
Jo Potter’s side ran out narrow winners when the sides last met in the league back in August and the 18-year-old spoke of their opposition and the challenge of playing three fixtures in the space of a week for players.
She continued: “I think Hearts will maybe press us a bit more, so we will need to be moving the ball a bit quicker, but if just play how we did on Sunday I think we can get the job done.
“It is difficult but Rangers are very good at looking after us and the sports science people are good at knowing how much we can take and rest, so we will be able to deal with it.”
The youngster made her first start for the club in the weekend’s win and feels she can take added confidence from earning those minutes and finding herself on the scoresheet, with the Gers continuing their form into the new month with a rampant 9-0 win.
She added: “It is massive for my confidence and as well I just want to contribute to the team whenever I can, I am glad I could do that.”
“I think it was a really good performance from us. Eight goals, clean sheet and there was lots of different scorers again which I think is always good for the team.
“I think it is just a positive overall that there is so many different people that can score and it is not just down to our strikers or down to our wing backs, it can be the defenders too.
“We spoke about it before the game, about starting fast and keeping that high level and I think it just sets the tone for the rest of the game and how we want to play.”
Kick-off at Broadwood tomorrow evening is at 7.45pm and you can purchase your tickets here.
