EMMANUEL FERNANDEZ is determined to finish the Europa League campaign at home with a win over Ludogorets.
Danny Röhl’s men face Porto next week, but play their final league phase fixture at Ibrox tomorrow night against the Bulgarian side.
The Gers are looking to secure their first victory, and on the back of six consecutive wins, Fernandez says the squad are in a confident mood.
Speaking to the media, he said: “Europe hasn’t gone our way this season, but we still need to have that winning mentality.
“As a group, you need to go into the game to win and give the fans something to be proud of.
“We go out to win every game, and this is no different.
“The biggest challenge I have found playing in Europe is that you have to be switched on all the time. The atmosphere is different; you feel the energy.
“I am feeling great, I like to think I have played well. I got my opportunity late, but I have taken it, and I can’t complain.
“It is different from when I first came here. I didn’t know what it would be like. People tell you about Rangers, but when you come here, you realise.
“I like a challenge, I am a competitive person, I will always fight for the club.
“When I wasn’t playing, the boys were great. Everyone goes through moments of not playing.
“Rabbi Matondo was great to me, James Tavernier and John Souttar were helping me too.
“The communication we have together is good, and I am enjoying it.
“Personally, I am happy. As a team, I can feel the energy; everyone is happy and smiling, but I think there is more to come from us.”
The defender has netted five goals this term, including two in his last four appearances for the Light Blues.
Skipper Tavernier has three more for the campaign, and while the big stopper is determined to add to his tally, he insists he isn’t chasing any goal target.
He added: “The set-piece coach, Scott Fry, has a big impact on the team and me. We have scored a lot of goals from set-pieces, but we are doing well defensively as well.
“You can see we are not conceding many, and when I get an opportunity to get the ball, I attack it.
“We work with Scott as a group. It is what role you are given; you attack that area. Scott understands what I am good at.
"I want to keep the ball out of the net, and if I can score at the other end, then I am happy.
“Can I get to double figures? If that happens, then it happens. I feel I can do it, but we will have to wait and see.”
