FINDLAY Curtis says he’s ready to show what he can do at Rangers after a positive loan spell at Kilmarnock in the second-half of last season.
The 19-year-old scored five goals in 14 appearances for the Ayrshire side, earning himself a place at the World Cup.
It has been an incredible few months for the Academy graduate, but he insists he’s ready and focused ahead of the new season at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV at the pre-season training camp in Spain, Curtis said: “It has been unbelievable. I can’t thank Killie enough for what they have done for me, and then leading into being in the World Cup squad, that is obviously every kid's dream.
“It is one of those ones where you can't really sit on a bench at this age; you need to go out and showcase your talent, and I did push for the loan; I think it was the best thing for me.
“If you go and do really well, it will stand you in good stead, but even if you do really bad, you then get learning experiences to go out on loan again and show what you are.
“I have always wanted to play football; I love scoring goals, and I love getting assists, and I think that is who I am. You just need to be confident in yourself, and I am certainly showing that at the moment.”
Curtis scored in the first friendly of the training camp against South African side Kaizer Chiefs, and has enjoyed being tested this week as Derek McInnes prepares his team for the first game of the season on July 31.
He added: “It has been brilliant; it is hot at the minute. We had our first game last night, and I came on and scored that goal. People will probably say it was a cross, but I’m saying it was a shot!
“We just have to keep on training hard; we are only three weeks away from that game against Dundee United, so we have to be prepared for that.”
