Hagi Reflects On Emotional Moment

IANIS HAGI netted his first Rangers goal in 16 months this afternoon and has been reflecting on what was a hugely emotional moment for him.

The Romanian international was mobbed by his Gers teammates in front of a delighted traveling support as he made it 2-0 in the Light Blues’ 3-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road.

He told RangersTV: "Look, 30 seconds with the guys down there, I just grabbed someone and tried to hold my emotions together but I just couldn't.

"In those 30 seconds, the last 16 months just flashed in front of my eyes. It took me so long to get back to scoring goals and I am really happy to do this.

"It's just another challenge that lay ahead of me - I have done this and there are still challenges ahead of me that I am really looking forward to accomplishing and I am really grateful to be in this position at this football club and I can still play football given the big injury I had."

"All the hard work I have put in, these are the moments that are worth it - having so many fans away from home supporting you and sending so much love, you have got to take a moment and just enjoy it with them.

"It is worth it - everything is worth it, considering the situation I was in 10-12 months ago, seeing myself now playing an kicking a ball with my mates and scoring goals, I can't be more thankful than I am right now.

"It has been great - but there are new challenges ahead of me and I can't wait to face them."

On the game overall, Hagi continued: "Considering the games here, we know how tough it is to come and win, we scored three goals and that is a positive.

"The performance was really good - in the last few games the performances have been really good and we want to end now with another two wins and go into the summer break on a positive note."
