HANNAH Blake is determined to get her hands on silverware after sealing a move to Rangers.
The winger, who makes the switch north of the border from English side Durham, became the latest addition to Leanne Crichton’s squad in this summer’s transfer window after agreeing a 12-month deal.
Speaking to RangersTV in her first interview with the club, the winger highlighted what she hopes to achieve in her time in a Light Blue jersey.
She said: “Winning trophies is something that I haven't done to date in my career but it is something that I want to hopefully change and hopefully this move allows me to do so and I can contribute to winning silverware this season and beyond.
“Even from what I have seen in the first few days the level is really high, the standards that are being pushed by the coaches and by the players as well.
“I think I am definitely going to improve here and that was a big reason for the move as well wanting to push myself outside of my comfort zone and hopefully it will allow me to achieve the goals I have individually and as a collective group as well.
“I love to get on the ball; I love to be creative. Sort of make things happen whether that is centrally, wide, love to score goals and set them up. Just all out attacking football hopefully.
“I am really looking forward to it, to my knowledge it is a very loyal fanbase so hopefully we can give them plenty to cheer about this season.”
Blake looked back on her time in the game to date having studied across the Atlantic before making her professional bow closer to home over in Australia. From her past experiences she is now looking to hit the ground running and take the next steps in her career.
She continued: “Growing up in New Zealand obviously everyone is pretty active so football was naturally what I was good at and what I sort of stayed in the longest.
“I grew up playing over there and did the US college pathway route and then started my professional career in Australia and then England and obviously now Scotland.
“It has been great so far but I haven't had a chance to compete for trophies yet and that is something that is really exciting here at Rangers.
“Obviously it is different balancing studies and football all at once and it becoming your full-time job where your focus is just on the football so it was definitely a transition. I feel like it was a good level to adjust me to and then make that step over to England and now here to Scotland so I feel like I am ready to really push on in my career.
“Durham? I really enjoyed it, I was born in England so knew I always wanted to circle back there and I really enjoyed my two years at Durham and I sort of felt like it was time to move on, so made the move up north a little bit further.”
A full New Zealand international with 17 caps for the Football Ferns to date, she revealed she spoke to one of her colleagues before making the switch, hoping the move will keep her recognised on the national team front ahead of next summer’s major tournament in South America.
She added: “I spoke a little bit to Victoria Esson, she obviously played here a few seasons ago and I am teammates with her on the New Zealand team and she like everyone I have sort of spoke too has spoken so highly of the club and she was really keen to hear that I was going to be making the move so it is really exciting.
“I debuted when I was 17 so going back a few years now and I have become a little more regular in the squad as of recent and hoping to continue that moving forward.
“Obviously having qualified with the team for the World Cup next year in Brazil so that is a real ambition of mine and I think that Rangers will be a great stepping stone to help me achieve something like that for sure.”
