Leah Eddie Departs Rangers

RANGERS can today confirm Leah Eddie will depart the club this summer following the expiration of her contract.

The defender, who rejoined the Gers for a second spell back in 2024, will bring an end to her time in Glasgow following two seasons at the club.

25-year-old Eddie made the switch back to the Light Blues following a five-year stint with fellow SPWPL side Hibs beginning back in 2018. She would go on to make 30 appearances in her final campaign with the capital club prior to joining, earning the team’s Player of the Year award.

Her performances in Edinburgh saw then Head Coach Jo Potter persuade her to make the switch across the M8 for the start of the 24/25 season. As Eddie gained Champions League experience with the club and helped them secure a consecutive cup double, earning silverware for the first time in her career.

Following the appointment of Leanne Crichton at Rangers in August 2025, Eddie featured on 24 occasions throughout her final campaign, having battled with injuries but returned to full fitness towards the end of the season, featuring in the league finale and Scottish Cup final.

Following the fixture at Hampden, the centre-back joined up with Melissa Andreatta’s Scotland setup as she was amongst the squad that secured top spot in their attempt to reach next summer’s FIFA World Cup finals.

Eddie has now decided to take up a challenge elsewhere as she brings an end to her second spell with the club.

Speaking on her decision to depart, she said: “Rangers, it’s been a dream come true.

“Representing this badge the past two years has been something I will never forget. From winning my first trophies, meeting best friends and being surrounded by the best fans in the world, I couldn’t have asked for a better time at Rangers.

“Many highs and some lows were all worth it when doing it with one of the greatest group of players and staff I could ask for.

“A massive thanks to all sponsors for backing and supporting us through everything we faced.

“It’s time for something new, but I will always be supporting this club from wherever I am.”

Women’s Head Coach Leanne Crichton added: “While we were keen for Leah to remain at Rangers, we respect her decision to move on at this stage of her career.

“Leah has contributed to the club during her two years with us and played her part in the progress and success of the team during that time.

“She approached her work professionally throughout her time here and remained committed to the group, including during some challenging periods with injury.

“Naturally, we would have preferred to continue working with a player of Leah's experience and quality, but we understand her decision to pursue a new opportunity.

“On behalf of everyone at Rangers, I would like to thank Leah for her efforts during her time at the club and wish her well for the future.”

Women’s and Girl’s Managing Director Donald Gillies also said: “We had been working for some time to extend Leah’s stay here, but ultimately she chose to take up a new challenge, which we respect.

“She has made a huge impact with the club in the two seasons with us, and while we will miss her, we wish her every success for the future”.
