DEFENDER Leah Eddie is hungry to achieve success in what remains of the campaign having enjoyed the first six months of her second spell at Rangers.
The Light Blues have already booked themselves in the Sky Sports Cup final in March, are right amongst the title picture as they currently sit two points off top spot and now turn their attention to their defence of the Scottish Cup they won for the first time in their history last season in tomorrow afternoon’s fourth round fixture at Broadwood.
Speaking to RangersTV on her eagerness to get her hands on the first trophy of her career in the months to come, she commented: “We are obviously playing Montrose at the weekend that we have played in the league.
“We know what they are going to bring and it will be a tough game, every cup game is.
“We will just be looking to get to the next stage of the cup and put ourselves in a really good position to get into another cup final and just focus on Sunday coming and then back to league action after that.
“We are Just focusing on one game at a time, it is the best way forward but looking forward I think it would be wrong to say that you don't want to win the treble so we will be looking to do that and hopefully we can and we progress further in the cup this Sunday.
The defender was part of the Hibs side that were beaten in the Sky Sports Cup final by the Gers in 2022 and she is determined to be put of the winning side when the two teams face off once at Fir Park in the showpiece final in 2 months time.
She continued: “It is so far away right now that I probably shouldn’t start thinking about it.
“It is obviously going to be strange playing against my old club.
“I done two years ago when I was at Hibs against Rangers. It will be weird but I suppose it is just another game of football; it is a cup final and I have never won a trophy before so we will be hopefully looking to do that in March.
“I think being in a cup final and you know the disappointment of how it feels when you don't win it.
“I think that will make me even hungrier and all the girls want to retain the cup from last year.
“There is going to be no problems with the team being up for it, we just need to make sure that we turn up on the day and bring a good game.”
The 24-year-old also had the honour of pulling on the Scotland jersey on occasion in the last year and she is hopeful of getting the opportunity of doing so starting with the camp to come next month.
She added: “I would always want to be selected for my country.
“It is such a big thing and a privilege to do so, with the camp coming up in February I can just focus on club football and try play as well as I can for my club and hopefully rewards come this year and I can get selected for the national team and hopefully just take it in my stride.
“I would love to be involved in the Scotland national team, it's such a big year for them and it would be something really nice to be a part of.”
