LEAH EDDIE says Rangers will focus fully on themselves as they look to end their three-game week on a positive note.
Following a defeat to Hearts and a score draw with Hibs in midweek, the Light Blues will host the league leaders at Broadwood tomorrow, looking to put three important points on the board.
Speaking to the official club website to preview their latest league outing, the defender said: “It has been tough obviously having a loss and a draw, but we are in a good place.
“We have looked at what we need to work on for our game going into [Glasgow] City, and it will be full focus on us.
“I think when we look at the games, it is marginal, and the way that we are losing goals is through our own fault.
“We are focusing on us and making sure that we are making things better as a team, which will only help us going into City, and hopefully we can fix that fast before tomorrow.
“Next game being around the corner? I think that is a good thing as well, always having something to focus on straight after.
“Being in the building as soon as possible and getting everything back to where we want it to be and preparing to focus on us and hopefully get a positive result to finish the three-game week.
“It is tough, especially when you are not getting the results that you want to get, but it is really good for the togetherness of the group and sticking together and trying to make things right.
“When you do that, it makes it all worthwhile with the time that you have been in and prepared for the games.
“All of us are learning each game and looking to do better.”
Leanne Crichton’s side will have the unusual scenario of facing off against the same opposition twice in consecutive games, welcoming City to Cumbernauld before the two will contest the Sky Sports Cup final next week. Eddie says the team will be well-equipped for the challenge as they go in search of successive victories.
She continued: “We have played City loads before, so we know they are about and know what we need to do to hurt them.
“Obviously, it is a big game the week before a cup final that we play them in.
“We will be looking to go out and set up for that as well, but firstly, looking to just get three points.
“That is why the schedule is so difficult, because you are going from a three-game week to play the same team twice in two weeks back-to-back.
“It is good though, because we will be able to prepare and focus on them for a longer period of time and look to fix things that we might need to before the cup final or keep doing the things that worked well. It is good, and it is positive that we have got that amount of time and hopefully take the cup.”
The Scotland international feels everyone is going to have an important part to play in a continued crucial run of games for the squad, as she spoke about what it would mean to win her third trophy with the club at Fir Park in eight days’ time.
She added: “Obviously, at the start of the season, with injuries and stuff like that and players being away at different times at international, but we'll have a full squad going into Glasgow City, and we'll look to use that, and everyone is so important in three-game weeks.
“Coming off the back of players potentially playing all three games, we'll be looking to use everyone, and we're all needed, whether you're on the bench or starting.
“It would be so nice to keep the cup at Rangers.
“Just winning one personally is massive for me; I had never done that before coming to Rangers, so we will be looking to win it again next Sunday.”
