McGregor, Davis & Tavernier Inducted Into Hall of Fame

RANGERS have this evening inducted Allan McGregor, James Tavernier and Steven Davis into the club’s prestigious Hall of Fame.

The three players were recognised for their contribution and commitment to Rangers Football Club at the opening gala dinner for New Edmiston House earlier tonight.

It is the first inductions into the Hall of Fame since 2014, as McGregor, Tavernier and Davis join a unique group of players to be celebrated for their impact while playing in Light Blue.

The Hall of Fame famously hangs above the grand marble staircase in the Ibrox main stand and is a litany of greatness.

The three players will now have their names added to the list of club legend’s and be a part of the constant reminder of the special qualities that are required to play for Rangers.

The club inaugurated the Hall of Fame in 1999 when three players were nominated at the Greatest Ever Rangers dinner and a year later 15 pre-war players were inducted by the committee.

Club legends Sandy Jardine and John Greig helped set-up the Hall of Fame along with a committee and agreed that there would be five criteria considered for potential inductees.

These include length of service given by the player to the club, total number of games in which they played, the honours one while playing at the club, the number of international caps which they won while playing in Light Blue and any exceptional abilities that the player displayed during their time.
