Mikey Moore Insists Togetherness Is Key

RANGERS are back in Scottish Premiership action on Sunday (14:00), and Mikey Moore believes the squad’s togetherness will be key as they look to continue their positive league momentum.

The Gers have won eight out of their last nine games in the division, tasting just the solitary defeat since Danny Röhl became Head Coach in October.

Coupled with their progress in the Scottish Cup, the side are on an upward trajectory as they head to Easter Road in search of an eighth successive domestic win.

Speaking to the media ahead of the clash, the on-loan winger said of his excitement at what lies ahead: “There are going to be some massive games, and we all need to be together.

“It’s going to take everyone, the fans and everyone around it. At the minute there’s a good feeling around the place, and as a group we just need to keep pushing each other.

“There are going to be a lot of games where we’re going to need someone to come up with a bit of magic.

“I need to reflect on my own end product. It’s not been the best so far, but I know I have big moments in me.

“Now with the big games coming up, I know I can really push on and start showing that in my numbers.

“At the start, it was a tough environment to play in, but now everyone is a little bit free and gaining confidence every game.

“We all need to push each other; new signings coming in and we’re all fighting for our spot in the team, which you need at a big club.”

Moore has been on the winning side three times against Hibs this campaign, with the Gers prevailing through an early Danilo strike in their previous trip to Leith earlier this season.

The Englishman is under no illusions that David Gray’s side will pose a stern test, and he says he and his teammates must focus on the challenge directly ahead of them.

He added: “The threat of Hibs? It’s a really tough game to play in, and it’s never easy.

“You saw that the last time we played them, so we’ll need to grind out a result, and we may need someone to come up with big moments. I’m hoping that can be me, but we’ll see what happens.

“As a team, we need to push on, and that comes individually and as a team. I’m trying to do that myself, but we need to push as a team as well.

“We need to take one game at a time. It’s easy to say that, and I think everyone says that coming into an interview, but you really need to go into every game thinking it’s as big as the next one.

“It’s not about going into a game at the weekend thinking about the next one, so we need to keep picking up three points.”
