NEDIM BAJRAMI believes Rangers is the perfect destination in his career after joining the club on transfer deadline day.
The gifted midfielder joins from Sassuolo and, although still only 25, brings significant experience both from his spell in Italy and starring for the Albanian national team.
His arrival at the club marked the final piece of summer business for Philippe Clement, whose rebuild of the squad has continued at pace throughout the window.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after arriving at the club, Bajrami said: “I’m finally here and I’m very happy to join Rangers. It was a long day for me, but at the end I’m really excited and ready.
“I spoke two weeks ago with my agent and I was really happy when he first told me about Rangers.
“I told him we have to finish the deal and, in the end, I’m here and I’m ready to give my best.
“The club has a lot of history and I want to be a part of it. I want to write some new history for the club.
“I started my career in Switzerland and then I went to Italy for the last five years. I have now joined Rangers and I’m really happy.”
Bajrami has been capped over 20 times for Albania and he owns the record of scoring the fastest ever goal in European Championships history after netting only 23 seconds into his country’s eventual 2-1 defeat to Italy in June.
At club level, the 25-year-old has spent the past five years in Italy, helping Empoli gain promotion to Serie A before making the switch to Sassuolo.
And the midfielder says he has kept a keen eye on Rangers and believes his qualities as a player will complement Clement’s side.
He added: “I think the team play nice football. They always want to win and they have a lot of goals towards the end of the season, and for this I’m here to help the team.
“I just saw a few games of the team and I really liked it; they play attacking football and I’m a fan of this type of football.
“It is different football compared to Italy. But this is football and I like it. I’m really excited to be here and I’m ready to start.
“The Italian leagues are very tactical and I improved a lot of things there. I know playing in Scotland will be different football and I’ll be ready.
“I think I’m a player who plays offensive football, who likes to score, give assists to other players, and always help the team.
“I have some experience and I will do my best to help the team in the future.”
