PHILIPPE CLEMENT says there are plans being put in place across the club as he starts looking towards the future at Rangers.
The Light Blues are in Scottish Premiership action for the final time this season tomorrow lunchtime as they take on Hearts in the capital before they round off their campaign in the Scottish Cup final next weekend.
Speaking to the media ahead of the season finale in Edinburgh, the manager said: “I think it is very important that I had really good talks with the board, but my ideas are in the club, what to change towards recruitment, towards positions, all those things.
“Let's say that we are aligned with almost everything, that is already a big thing, in a lot of clubs it is sometimes more difficult.
“That is the first step, the second step is to do it of course.
“You can have amazing plans but you need to execute them, you need to do that.
“We are still busy with looking at the departments what we can make and do better and then to make the right conclusions first and then secondly to do the right things towards next season to make things better.
“That is always the thing, you can say things but you need to do things, you need to see things.
“The promises and plans is not enough; it is about how you execute them.
“We are going to see that in the next weeks and months, but I am really convinced about that the will is there in the club, that was also for me the point to come here.
“That I felt that the people in the club wanted to make steps, they wanted to work hard.
“They were also honest in many ways about what was going wrong with the club six months ago. That was also important to have this honesty, this honesty is also there now.
“I feel that everybody is really engaged to make things better, that is the other thing, I know there are emotions now and that is normal.
“When you don't get your goal and the goal is always to become champion, but it is also important to take the right conclusions so it is not in the last six months nothing happened here, there are already steps made but we are all very ambitious and me in the first place to make things a lot better.
“There is changes, there will be changes, I think as a club we are in some ways at the end of a cycle.
“We need to change some things, I want them to end this cycle with a really big moment next week on Saturday, so they end the cycle in a really good way.
The Belgian has given an update on his squad ahead of the final league fixture of the campaign, as Rangers look to build momentum heading towards the cup final next weekend.
He added: “[Abdallah] Sima will be back in the selection to play some minutes, very little but it is his first step again after his injury and Ryan Jack the same, he can also be selected for a few minutes.
“Then Leon Balogun is still a question mark we will see tomorrow how he is but he is also close to coming back into the squad, but that is after just a few training sessions.
“My principles I had to also throw away some principles in this situation, before players had to train at least one week with me or ten days before they were selectable, I cannot follow those rules this last couple of months.”
