Rangers Announce Signing Of Gry Boe Thrysøe

RANGERS Football Club can today confirm the signing of Gry Boe Thrysøe on a two-year deal.

The Danish midfielder joins the Gers as a free agent following a successful trial period earlier in the year, as she went on to complete her college studies over in the United States before making the permanent switch to Glasgow ahead of the new season getting underway.

Starting her career in her homeland with Aalborg Boldklub, she helped them earn promotion to Denmark’s top division back in 2020, as she was named the club’s most valuable player at that time.

She has spent the last five years featuring across the Atlantic for college club Old Dominion Lady Monarchs, having her most successful campaign in 2025, where she started all 18 outings, scoring six times and assisting once.

At 26 years of age, she impressed during her short stint with the club back in January in training and now bolsters Leanne Crichton’s midfield options ahead of the 26/27 season, becoming her first signing of the summer window as she makes the move to the SPWPL.

Speaking after signing for Rangers, she said: “I am super excited, I know a little bit of how it is here and I am just excited to get started.

“I was thrilled and just so excited, I had a few weeks of training here in January and I loved the people here, the club, the team and the staff members.

“The setup is just super cool and I love that Rangers is a club that you always have something to play for and hopefully we can carry that over to this season.

“I am just excited to be part of the team.”

Women’s Head Coach Leanne Crichton added: “We are glad to welcome Gry to Rangers.

“She is a player who brings a really strong technical level, intelligence in possession and added quality in the middle of the pitch. Having enjoyed a successful trial period with the club earlier in the year, it was clear she has the character and ambition that we want within this squad, and we believe she has all the attributes to make a positive impact here.

“Gry has gained valuable experience both in Denmark and during her time in the United States, where she continued to develop her game and we hope she can continue to do so here. She is comfortable in midfield, can influence matches at both ends of the pitch and has shown a real desire to keep improving.”

Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies also said: “We are very pleased to welcome Gry to Rangers and are delighted to add an exciting player to our squad ahead of the new season.

“Recruiting players of Gry's quality and potential reflects the work that continues behind the scenes to strengthen every area of our women's programme. We are committed to building a squad capable of competing at the highest level while also creating an environment where players can continue to develop and improve.

“Gry is someone we identified as a player with the technical ability, professionalism and ambition to thrive at Rangers. We saw her quality first hand earlier this year during her visit and are keen to see her develop further when she steps into this environment permanently here.”
