RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB is proud to endorse Stonewall Scotland’s Rainbow Laces initiative in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
The ‘Rainbow Laces’ campaign aims to bring visibility to the LGBTQ+ community within sport, championing the way for inclusion and togetherness.
Despite the progress made in recent years with several athletes bravely coming out across multiple sports, discrimination towards the LGBTQ+ community continues to exist.
The iconic Rainbow Laces have become a symbol of inclusion, highlighting how people from all walks of life can gain a sense of belonging through the shared passion of sport.
Rangers and Rangers Charity Foundation are wholeheartedly committed to championing and celebrating diversity, which is reflected in the programmes we run under our ‘Everyone Anyone’ banner and our wider work.
Rangers Managing Director, Stewart Robertson, commented: “Rangers is once again proud to support Stonewall Scotland’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
“The campaign reflects the key pillars of our ‘Everyone Anyone’ initiative at the club, which aims to unite people from all backgrounds, cultures and communities to celebrate and support the common cause that is Rangers Football Club.
“It is our responsibility as a club – from players, staff and supporters – to foster a positive environment where no-one should feel excluded.
“Football unites society and there is no place for discrimination in our game.”
Director of the Rangers Charity Foundation, Connal Cochrane, added: “The Rangers Charity Foundation is proud to support the annual Rainbow Laces campaign and champion LGBTQ+ inclusion, which is an important focus of the ground-breaking Diversity Wins education programme which we deliver in local schools throughout the year.
“We want everyone to feel welcome and be able to be themselves when taking part in our activities at the Foundation and when attending games at Ibrox. We can all play a role in making that possible.”
